Vision 2030 Urban Church Planting Initiative

In 2020, the Agape Mission Alliance launched Vision 2030  with a goal of planting 300 healthy, growing, multiplying churches among unreached people in Myanmar by the end of 2030.

Agape Church Yangon’s Vision 2030 is an urban church planting initiative that aims to plant 45 healthy, growing, and multiplying churches in 45 townships of the Yangon Region by the end of 2030.

We envision a healthy church in every community in Myanmar. Our passion is to glorify God by reaching the unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ through planting a healthy church in every community in Myanmar.

About Agape Church

Agape Church is a family where people from all walks of life experience redemptive love, transforming grace, living hope, and abundant life.

As a biblically independent church with a strong disciple-making culture, we strive to lead and grow a healthy church that has Jesus Christ as Savior King in loving God, loving people, and making disciples. We gather weekly in small groups to engage, equip and empower every disciple to multiply healthy disciples and churches.

Agape Church exists to establish a healthy and vibrant community of faithful followers of Jesus Christ. We do that through meeting people where they are to build an intimate relationship with God, create a strong disciple-making culture that will multiply healthy disciples, equip and empower God’s people to do His work and build up His church, and strengthen and accelerate church planting in every community in Myanmar.

Vision 2030

To plant a healthy church in every township of the Yangon Region.

Strategic Goals

  1. To mobilize and equip 50 strategically positioned church planters.
  2. To reach one million unreached neighborhoods and unchurched people.
  3. To multiply 300 new discipleship groups of saved and baptized believers.
  4. To establish 45 healthy churches in 45 townships by the end of 2030.

Our Impact

Our Founding Pastor Rev. Peter T. Mang began to serve as an itinerant Evangelist in 2009, sharing the gospel with unreached people in remote villages and cities across Ayeyarwady Region. And he then began pursuing God’s call to church planting in 2011 and started planting house churches in Yangon.

When we started Agape Church in Hlaingtharyar on Sunday, September 23, 2012, our attendees were just a small group of 12 people. We envision a movement of churches planting churches among unreached people to fulfill the Great Commission.

We are committed to seeing a church grow and multiply. Agape Church grew from a small group of people meeting in a tiny house once a week, providing small groups Bible study on a regular basis, to multiplying churches by planting a healthy church in every community in Yangon.

We provide creative approaches to evangelism, discipleship, and mission mobilization, and develop innovative solutions that facilitate church planting, multiplication and growth movements that are both thoroughly biblical and fundamentally strategic.
