Lead Pastor, Church Planting Director
Pastor James’s passion is to serve in all possible ways to see more lives being transformed, more disciples being made, and more churches being multiplied. It’s his conviction that “It is worth to give all of our life to the great cause of our Great Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.”
As the Lead Pastor and Church Planting Director of Agape Church Yangon, and President of Agape Mission Alliance, Pastor James is actively leading Vision 2025 Urban Church Planting Initiative and participating in mobilizing national leaders and planting multiplying churches among unreached and unengaged people groups. Pastor James believes that communicating the gospel to the unreached with all available means, making disciples and equipping them for the ministry, and planting multiplying churches in the unreached areas are the best and most effective ways of fulfilling the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor James understands the purpose God has for his life and God’s calling to pastoral ministry, church planting, mission mobilization, disciple making, ministry leadership and teaching. He leads and serves with deep interest and unwavering commitment to fulfill God’s calling for his life. In fact, Pastor James was a key leader in planting several new churches while he served as a missionary in Northern Shan State and Mon State of Myanmar.
A gifted teacher, Pastor James is a lecturer in theological seminary in Yangon. Pastor James served as a missionary for seven years among unreached people groups in Northern Shan State and Mon State, and a mission field director for two years in Mon State with Gospel Baptist Churches of Myanmar Convention. He also served as a pastor for two years in Hmawbi, Yangon.
Pastor James has Bachelor of Theology from Gospel Baptist Bible Seminary in Yangon, Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Berean Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary in Bangalore, India. He is married to Esther Htun and God has blessed them with fabulous son David, and they live in Insein, Yangon.
